Beer! Wine! Coffee! Water?

I LOVE me a good drink! Especially with the super bowl yesterday, I wanted a little of everything!

My go to is a nice glass of white wine! I love a Sauvignon Blanc---Kim Crawford to be exact! Have you tried this stuff?? Its the bees knees!

How about a good margarita? Sangria? I promise I'm not an alcoholic, so how about a good ole iced cafe latte??

These are my GO TO drinks! I love them all! And you know what I hate (okay use to hate) WATER!!

Its just so....plain. Sure its refreshing, but so is an iced late or a cold margarita! So why should I drink the stuff? Everyone always says to drink lots, well how much is lots??

I used to drink 1-2 glasses of water a day. No joke! I thought drinking an entire glass within 4-5 hours was a LOT of water! I just didn't like it at all!! So I get it, its plain, its boring, its no glass of wine or coffee!

When I started focusing on my nutrition I became educated about how much water I should drink and why I should drink it!

But how did I do this? How did I adjust myself from drinking 2 glasses a day to 72-80 ounces a day??

1. Make it fun! I bought myself some cool water bottles to get excited about water! Water glasses are boring! Wine glasses, margarita glasses, and starbucks cups are not! So make it fun!

Awesome water bottle tracker!

2. Track it! You can buy a water bottle that tracks it for you or get an app like Myfitness Pal or Lose it!

3. Drink an entire glass in the morning before you have anything else! I always start my day with water before I even allow myself to have coffee, this ensures I get at least 12-24 ounces (depending on your glass size) of water before I even start my day!

4. Drink a glass of water before a meal or going out. Sometimes hunger is actually confused for thirst!

What tips can you share!?

  2. I love all of the above - haha! Sauvignon Blanc is my favorite wine and I love a good latte, and my pink drink!! I drink mostly water though - I usually get in about 80 ounces but tell people to aim for half their weight in ounces. I feel so much better when I'm hydrated!

  3. I drink so much more water when I'm at work than I do when I'm at home. At work I also bring a couple of bottles with me & they're gone before I leave. If I'm at home though I just don't really think to get water.

  4. I am definitely a water drinker, always have been. I don't allow myself a pop of any kind unless it is an occasional diet with pizza or popcorn. I have one cup of coffee a day, Starbucks lattes on Fridays and the weekends but lots of tea. And I'll take any Of the drinks you mentioned anytime, ha ha. Happy Monday

  5. I actually really like water, but sometimes I have to make sure I don't get distracted and drink some. I definitely agree that fun cups help, and for me, I love it when it is ice cold!

  6. I try to drink a lot of water but I think it really does help to keep La Croix or a good sparkling water on hand as well as lemons, limes, and cucumbers to help break the monotony. Great tips!

  7. I have always been real big on water and have no problem hitting the daily amount and then some. It always helps to have fun glasses or even adding in a lemon or cucumber or something to change it up helps. I am much more a red wine person, I like the sweeter reds. And mmmmm coffee!!! I like my coffee, lattes, machiattos, fraps, whatever...I drink it all!

  8. Oh the struggle. I hate water too. It makes sushi a huge difference though doesn't it? Skin, hair, nails, bloating. I am going to try and be better. ;) Xo!

    2. I really like lemon juice in my water. But, if it is cold it makes it easier to drink it, too. I have never tried Kim Crawford, but my favorite wine is any pinot noir!

  9. I love these tips and whole heartedly agree that you somewhat have to make a game out of being intentional about drinking water! Great blog post idea. :)

  10. So many yummy drinks! I have heard Kim Crawford wine is delicious, I need to try it! I have a fun water bottle too. It's 25 ounces and I drink 3-4 a day. On days when I am traveling for work or something and don't drink enough water, I can totally tell! I hate not meeting my water goal! I will have to check out those trackers!
