I can not believe how fast time is flying by! To think it is already October (in like 2 days) is crazy! Where did September go!? Before I know it I will be graduated from college, 24, and still very unsure of what I will be doing with me life, but hey, thats the fun part :) This weekend was RELAXING! I am pretty sure I didn't move off the coach on Saturday. Friday night, I met up with one of my best friends for a few drinks. The local restaurant just set up a brewery type atmosphere while carrying 120 beers! Almost all the beers are local Grand Rapids brewed which made them more fun to try.
Saturday, I didn't move. I wish I was kidding but I literally did not move from my couch all day. I just sat there, watched football, napped, worked on a little bit of school work. IT WAS GREAT! Since Michigan had a bye week this week I was able to focus my attention towards the LSU/Georgia game, Alabama, and Texas A&M. Great football! And despite the fact that many people don't like this guy, you can't argue the fact he is one of the BEST college football quarterbacks to play football in a LONG time!
Sunday I kicked back, did some homework and house cleaning and enjoyed some NFL football. We don't need to discuss how bad my fantasy team is doing ;) Hope you all had a great weekend!
I wish I had a really fun and interesting weekend recap, but all I did this weekend was work on homework and student teaching stuff. However, this ONE really good thing happened! MICHIGAN BEAT NOTRE DAME!
Apparently, Brian Kelly doesn't consider Michigan a rival, HAA I guess he really hasn't followed the history of his school and how far back the Notre Dame and UofM rivalry has gone! There is even a wikipedia page dedicated to the rivalry! But it was such a great game! GO BLUE! And yes, after they won they, they played the chicken dance song for Brian Kelly, hence he is being a chicken not wanting to play UofM anymore and end the rivalry!
That is the height of my weekend :) Have a great week! And GO BLUE!
Oh hey blog world! Long time no see! I guess not really, but this week has been a whirl wind!
Getting back into a schedule has been so nice but man am I SO TIRED! Waking up at 4:45 has caused me to be in bed no later than 9:30 every night, I have a huge work load with student teaching and college classes, I a starting and after school tutoring program at the school I am student teaching at up, after that leaving to go pick up the girl nanny from school and watch her till her mom comes home, trying to stay fit for my half marathon coming up in less than a month, studying for my teacher certification exam and teaching full time kindergarten and first grade sunday school....which all started this week! Ahhh! But I really do love it so much better this way!
But hey its Friday! And man this is the most excited I have been to see it in weeks!
So what is there to talk about? hmmm how about how my entire fantasy football team is suspended or injured! (okay maybe not whole team, but this season is looking like a draggg) At least I can watch this man take the field Sunday, my go to guy!
Also, Michigan has a HUGE game against Notre Dame! Big rivalry! GO BLUE!
Last but not least, lets jam out and #backthatazzup
Well folks, the times is here where I will get to embrace 120 new freshman to my hometwon high school! I am so excited to complete my student teaching back at my old stomping grounds! But have to admit it has been SUPER weird working along side some of my former teachers! Ahh I feel old. Speaking of feeling old, I was invited to my first ever high school reunion! I am actually really excited about it but can't believe its been over 5 years since graduation. Some of you may be giggling to yourself thinking I am a young lady, which is true, but 5 years was a long time ago! Yet it feels like just yesterday! Plus what am I going to talk about? lol I will save that fun subject for another post! This weekend I had the opportunity to go visit Grandma and Grandpa south of the border in the beautiful O-H-I-O (sorry, buckeye territory, it takes me a lot to cross that border..go blue!) I was able to see my cousin play in his high school football game under the lights.
I got to go to my FAVE restaurant! Seriously, the best sushi you will EVER eat!
And got to spend some quality time with grandma and grandpa when I wasn't preparing for class! I also want to point out that I now have to wake up between 4:30-4:45am every day. UGHHHHHH. Please think of me and send the coffee my way around 1 today when I am doomed to crash! Also, who looks this great when they wake up in the morning!? I wish thats what I looked like at 4:30am
Anyway, happy first day of school to those teachers who are starting today and to those already in the classroom for a few weeks :) Make sure to link up your monthly goals and check out the goals of others!
Yayy! My monthly goal link up is back for another month! This link up is open all month long so make sure to link up and post your goals for the month as well as check up on the goals of others. Before we do that, lets talk football! Its the season opener of college football this weekend! I AM PUMPED! UofM is my all time favorite team and I can't wait to see that Maize and Blue take the field!
Also, lets talk about my fantasy team. I had the draft this week. I honestly can't predict how well my team is going to be! However, with my starting QB Tom Brady, I am sure we will be fine ;)
Now for the link up! Its that time of the month where I confess my success/struggles with my goals this month! This link up is new! First month doing it! Read here for why its important to publicly declare your goals! My goals this past month were as follows: 1) Spend Less 2) Loose 3 lbs 3) Lesson Plan -Sadly I didn't spend less (dang Patriots game!) -I didn't loose 3lbs, I actually gained weight :( But Muscle! Because I feel totally toned and my stomach is a lot flatter (thanks insanity!) - I did lesson plan! I actually got a ton done this summer and feel prepared to walk into the class on Tuesday! Goals for September:
1) SAVE MONEY! Now that graduation is right around the corner I need to start saving so I can move out of my parents house and start my life as an independent woman! woo woo!
2) Run the full 13 miles of my half marathon the last week of September! It will be about a month out from race day then and I need to be able to do it once! ughhh wish me luck!
3) Accomplish 2 of my 8 observations for my student teaching!
4) Stay on top of my A game with school. That means getting all my homework complete, readings done, and being ahead of my game not slacking or procrastinating.
What are your goals? Grab a button and link up! Can't wait to hear your story at the end of the month
What a weekend! A weekend of learning experiences let me tell you! But as far as my ability to see Tom Brady, well it was AMAZING!
Now, we got to the game super late (ugh boys and traffic, the usual) Like only 4 minutes left in the first half late, so I only got to see Tom (basically play like crap) for a few minutes. But it was well worth it (except they lost). It was a rough day for my boy Tom, a lot of incomplete passes, some interceptions, some turn overs, but the fact of the matter is I got to see him in flesh!
Just doing his thing ;)
Tim Tebow! I know, I know, but he is such a great guy with good morals!
Oh hey Tom! Calling a play!
And although it was a short lived and they got their behinds handed to them it was still so fun to see them live! And we had great seats!!
The rest of my weekend consumed of me creating lesson plans, organizing, and cleaning to get ready for me to start my student teaching this week! Starting Tuesday I am back in PD meetings getting ready for the kids!
Dear Friday, It's been awhile since I have written to you! Sorry I have been neglecting you lately, you know your my go to girl glad to have you back ;) Dear Real Housewives, I can't get enough of you. I knew I had an obsession but after watching the Throw Back Thursday version of RHOC yesterday, it made me realize that its an undying love. I really think that I love every version of you OC, Miami, ATL, and Bev Hills. Keep doing your thing!
Dear weddings, by the end of the night I will be done with wedding season this summer! I never thought I would be happy to say that because I LOVE weddings, but I don't think I could afford another one of you! Congrats to the lovely couple getting married tonight! I also think its time to come clean about something, something really embarrassing I did. At the most recent wedding I went to, I may or may not have fought my sister for the bouquet toss. I mean we both grabbed it, and she already has a boyfriend, it was MY time! Until I realized that 200 people had their eyes on me during this battle and felt super embarrassed afterwords. But hey, I won! Luckily for us the photographer (Ashley Slater over at The Sweet Season) captured the moment and I can forever remember how I had a full out brawl at my best friends wedding. Enjoy.
we both have it
not going to let go
still not going to let go....
After that battle, I had to win.
P.S. I need to find a go to date for next wedding season, this is getting ridiculous! Dear Tom Brady, would you like to be my date? Just kidding! (except not at all) Seriously Tom I can not wait to see you in the flesh! I haven't decided what my initial reaction will be but I can tell you one thing, I will loose my mind! Not just to see you, but to see my favorite team ever play! WOOOO! Only 2 more weeks!
Dear Football season, you are well underway and I am not even the slightest bit disappointed! I have started staking out my spot on the couch and looking up recipes to prepare for regular season to start! Also, my fantasy football team is going to be killer this year, I'm feeling a trophy :) Do I dare join two leagues? Dear school, ugh, you start in 3 weeks...WHYYYYY!? However, 4 months till graduation! And then the real world, which after looking up the amount of student loans I have accumulated for the first time ever makes me want to crawl in a hole. (I should have listened when they told me growing up wasn't as great as it looked!) Dear Friday Link up's, yes there are a lot of you, and yes I like them all so feel free to check out the wonderful blogs I follow below. I look forward to friday's because of these ladies! Well, and because its the weekend! Cups (Pitch Perfect’s “When I’m Gone”) by Anna Kendrick on Grooveshark
Okay so I'm not actually "ballin" but this month has been so much fun and I have tons to look forward to for cheap! My monthly goal this month was to stop spending spend less!! I gave myself $100 to go towards school supplies and this months expenses(I am in my last few months of college and live with my parents so I really don't have any "bills" to pay for....yet). Well my school supplies were only $15! Wooo! Student teaching does not require me to buy any textbooks, but just lots of colored pens and paper :) Total expenses: $15 I was able to attend Cedar Point....for free! Score! And free beverages all day long! Since grandma and grandpa only live 20 minutes away I had a free place to sleep, and grandma threw in a little spending money for food for the day :) Total expenses: nothing Now for the best news EVER!!!! Drum roll please....
This man, the love of my life, the best NFL player to date will be in Detroit playing the lions August 22 and guess who is going to the game....ME!!!! I seriously have not been able to sleep since my purchase of tickets last night! Now let me tell you that I will be sitting on the 20 yard line, 17th row....for just $22!!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!? I almost died last night buying them! For those of you who don't know, I am in love with football (check out the really cool friday link up I participated in). Most importantly I love the Patriots! I seriously have never been so excited to see a football game ever! I am bursting with joy! And the fact the tickets were so cheap makes things even better! Now let me tell you better news! I have a credit card I use strictly for gas, but I do get cash back every time I use the card. Well its my lucky day because I have enough cash back to pay for my ticket and put towards the brand new Tom Brady T-shirt I bought via Amazon for only $22. So in reality this ticket is free! I JUST LOVE FREE!!
Let me review my expenses thus far:
School supplies: $15
Cedar point: free
Patriots Game: free
Brady T-shirt: $15
Total: $30
$30 for all of this!?! I could die a happy woman! (but I hope I don't any time soon so I can get to this game!)
